Hello! I am an ethicist working as a Lecturer in the Philosophy and WGS departments at Cal Poly, SLO. I obtained my PhD in Philosophy from UC Santa Barbara in 2020.
My core research interests are shared agency and the philosophy of death. My research on shared agency focuses on how acting together can lead to shared moral responsibility and moral luck. I also write on shared agency between neurotypical humans and agents with limited mentalizing capacities, such as young children, animals, and AI systems.
My research on death focuses primarily on death's badness and how we ought to feel about our own deaths. Topics I write about include the relationship between existential distress and different metaphysical views of time, Epicurean denials of death's badness, and the badness of death for social animals.
